Nelson S. Hallock was born on 5 September 1836 at Albany, NY. Bonnie Fairbank notes: "Photo from Guy Hallock of his father Nelson states on the back that Nelson was obrin in 1840. Harriet Ann Sperry's bible states NElson was born in 1836. [Andthe] 1880 Census for Lake County, CO shows Nelson Hallock 40 yrs old, White, Male, Capitalist. b. IL. [The] Tulare County, CA 1900 Federal Census shows a Nelson Hallock age 59, and Curtis G. Hallock age 24 along with a manservant named Orlando R. Cramer age 40. NElson listed as a gold miner and Curtis and Orlando as working i nthe mine. Nelson and Curtis are listed as single and Orlando as a servant. I'm not sure taht this is Davis Hallock's brother, but it's interesting that Nelson's son Guy's middle name is Curtis. Also, Guy was born in December of 1875, so Curtis' age of 24 could fit and if Nelson was born in 1840, as Guy states on the back of the photograph, he would be about 59 depending on what time of the year the census was taken.".1 He was the son of Reuben Hallock and Harriet Ann Sperry.1 Nelson S. Hallock married Kathryn Caley in 1861 at Denver, Denver, CO.1 Nelson S. Hallock died on 3 September 1911 at El Paso, TX.1
Bonnie Fairbank cites "Fairplay Flume" article dated 1882: "Hon. Nelson Hallock abandoned the sawmill business to become a bonanza king by his lucky strike of the carbonate mine, jointly owned by Captain Albert Cooper, of this county."1

Sarah Jane Steinman was born on 13 August 1841 at Columbus, OH. Bonnie Fairbank says, "According to the 100 Census, Sarah was born in 1846, not 1841 that is listed on her death certificate as well as her headstone. This conflicts with information provided on the 1910 census"..1 She was the daughter of Johann Steinman and Elizabeth Brandt.1 Sarah Jane Steinman married Davis Sperry Hallock, son of Reuben Hallock and Harriet Ann Sperry, on 18 April 1869 at Bethany, MO.1 Sarah Jane Steinman died on 5 January 1911 at Como, Park, CO. Bonnie Fairbank cites the Certificate of Death issued by the State of Colrado #SL01094026 on April 29, 1999, listing the cause of death as gastric cancer with pneumonia as a contributing factor. She also quotes this obituary from the "Fairplay Flume" January 13, 1911:
"Mrs. Sarah J. Hallock of Como Yields After A Lingering Illness"
Mrs. Hallock, born in Columbus, Ohio, widow of the late David Hallock, died at her home in Como on Thursday night, January 5th, at the age of 69. She was married to David Hallock at Bethany, Missouri on April 18, 1869 and the family moved to Park county 32 years ago, where they have since made their home. For several years they made their home on the Eight Mile ranch, later taking up residence in Como, where they raised a large family. Eight children survive the parents: Mrs. Hattie Conn of Montana, Mrs. Mary Reckle of Salida, William of Buena Vista, and George, John, Jessie, Guy and Holly whose homes are in Como. The funeral was held at the MEthodist church in Como on Monday afternoon and was largely attended by friends of the family. The Rev. O. C. Jones, a young minister who is visiting in Como, conducted the services and preached a most impressive sermon. Mrs. Beckle is ill and could not be present, and Mrs. Conn is so far from railroad word could not be gotten to her for several days."1 She was buried on 9 January 1911 at Como Cemetery, Como, Park, CO.1
As of 18 April 1869,her married name was Hallock. According to Bonnie Fairbank, "on the 1910 Census, Sarah Jane was 70 years olkd and living with four of her sons, George-40, John-39, Guy-29, and Holly-20. Her grandson, Henry David Wolford-20, Harriet Elizabeth's son, was living with her as well. The ages of some of her sons conflicts with other information available."1

Bonnie Fairbank: "According to the 1910 Census, George was 40 and living with his mother, Sarah Jane. It also states that he was born in MO. This information conflicts with information found previously for George. The Como Cemetery listing says George is burind there, although I didn't find his grave. It lists his birth as 1881. The 1910 Census says he is 40 years old, which would make his year of birthdaya closer to 1870."1

Holley Cook Hallock was born on 4 June 1886 at Buena Vista, Chaffee, CO..1 He was the son of Davis Sperry Hallock and Sarah Jane Steinman.1 Holley Cook Hallock died on 16 January 1947 at Como, Park, CO. Bonnie Fairbank cites this short notice that appeared in the "Fairplay Flume" Jan. 16, 1947: "Holly Hallock, age 60, died at the home of his brother Guy Hallock in Como, Thursday morning from a heart attack." and then on January 23, 1947 appeared: "The funeral of Mr. Holly C. Hallock of Como was held last Sunday at the Humphrey Mortuary, Rev. J. N. Hillhouse officiating. Two of the brothers, Mr. Will Hallock of Buena Vista, and Mr. Guy Hallock of Como, were present together with a large group of friends. The interment was in Como. The deceased was 60 years old and was born in Buena Vista but spent most of his life in South Park. The day was bitter cold with a high wind, but the friends faced it all to show their respects to Holly Hallock's memory. There were beautiful floral tributes and the services and funeral all was certainly appreciated by his brothers and friends. Bill Hallock was over from Buena Vista to attend his brother's funeral."1 He was buried on 19 January 1947 at Como Cemetery, Como, Park, CO.1
