Barbara was born at Arnyfoul, Glamis Parish, Scotland, on 7 July 1792. However, Glorya Welch also says "From Thomas Rea's Bible now in the posession of Virginia Olsen of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin: Parents of Thomas Rea - James Rea born 1789 died Oct. 7 1873, Barbara Gibson Rea born 1790 died Oct 7, 1873." The 1841 Census in Scotland lists the birth place as Angus..1,2 She was the daughter of Thomas Gibson. Barbara Gibson was baptized at Glamis, Forfarshire, Scotland.1 She married James Rae circa 1812.1 Barbara died on 8 October 1873 Glorya Welch also indicates she died 7 Oct 1873 "From Thomas Rea's Bible now in the posession of Virginia Olsen of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin: Parents of Thomas Rea - James Rea born 1789 died Oct. 7 1873, Barbara Gibson Rea born 1790 died Oct 7, 1873. Gone a little while before us, across the narrow sea. Gone to jone (sic) the matchless chorus where the sinless spirits be." at Waukesha Co., WI. In addition, Thomas Rae listed as 25 was actually 21, Helen Rae 22 was 27, D. Alidice 29 was 24, Margry Rae 19 was 18, Barnary Rae 17 was Barbara 15, Geo Rae 11 was 8, Mary Rae 10 was 6 and Jessie Rae 7 was Jean 3. Also on board was Janet Rea 21 who was not listed with the rest and whose relationship with them, if any, is not known. Ellen was born at Glammis, Angus, Scotland, Scotland, on 17 February 1814.1 She was the daughter of David Craik and (?) Donald.1 She married John J. Rea at Glamis, Forfarshire, Scotland, on 12 March 1836. (Glorya Welch indicates her name was Helen Craik).1 Ellen died on 20 December 1903 During a prairie fire in South Dakota she fell and broke her hip. She died soon after. at Turin, Monona Co., IA. Her book includes a photo of Janet Coupar's wedding dress held by Virginia Olsen and her daughter Jean.
