This company was mustered into service 6 July 1861; re-enlisted 28 Dec 1863 and served to the end of the war.² He ran the "Four Mile House", a hotel in Mahoning Township, confirmed by an 1875 township map with names appearing at houses and businesses in the area shown.² He was census 1880 - 1920 in 1880 at Mahoning Township.² An 1900 census of Mahoning Township listed J. There was a wedding supprt after the ceremony and then the couple left for HArtland and North Lake. They were to reside at West Allis.¹
