     Joseph Stanton was baptized on 20 November 1759 at Westerly, RI. The Presbyterian church records say, "Joseph being in a languishing state at the house of his father Daniel, was baptized by Joseph Park." He was the son of Capt. Daniel Stanton and Elizabeth Brown. Joseph Stanton married Abigail Sheffield on 6 March 1748. Joseph Stanton died by May 1761.
