Thomas Sheffield married Wealthian Pendleton, daughter of Joseph Pendleton and Sarah Worden, on 12 January 1763 at by Nathaniel Sheffield, Justice, Westerly, Washington Co, RI.1 Thomas Sheffield died in January 1822 at Charlestown, Washington Co, RI.1

     Benjamin Hoxie was born on 14 April 1716 at Westerly, Washington Co., RI.. He married Sarah Knowles on 19 September 1741 at Charlestown, Washington Co, RI. Benjamin Hoxie married Sarah Stanton, daughter of Thomas Stanton and Esther Babcock, on 16 November 1752. Raymond Sheffield indicates 19 Nov 1756. No citation. Some sources indicate her name was Mary Stanton.1,2 Benjamin Hoxie married Mary Wells on 24 November 1774 at Smithfield, Providence, RI. Benjamin Hoxie married Catherine Gifford on 7 February 1782 at Hopkinton, Washington, RI. Benjamin Hoxie died on 14 January 1795 at Charlestown, Washington Co, RI.

     Thomas Hoxie was born circa 1752. The Stanton book indicates he was born about 1742. But his mother wasn't born until about 1730 and his parents weren't married until 1752. My supposition is that the Stanton book entry is a typo and his birth date should be 1752..1 He was the son of Benjamin Hoxie and Sarah Stanton. Thomas Hoxie married Mary Browning, daughter of Wilkinson Browning. Thomas Hoxie died in 1832.

Thomas Stanton

     Thomas Stanton was born..1 He was the son of Daniel Stanton Jr. and Mary Wilcox.
      He and his first wife did not have any issue. He did have children with the second wife. One of those children was drowned, with five other persons, in Narragansett bay. He was killed on board the "Bon Homme Richard", under the command of Paul Jones, off Hamborough Head, Scotland in the engagement with the Serapis. He commanded the round tops. William Stanton in 1891 could not find any record or trace of any descendants.1
