     Samuel was born at Westerly, Ri, on 13 December 1787. Stanton Garner indicates it may have been 1787 or 1788..1 He was the son of Samuel Berry and Mollie Foster. He married Lucy Stanton at Hopkinton, Ri, on 13 April 1813. William Stanton indicates the location may be Westerly, RI.. Samuel died on 8 March 1830 at Caton, Steuben Co., Ny.
     He resided at New York State in 1823.1 He resided in 1830.1 He resided in 1850.1 He was a sailor and according to family tradition, his wife insisted she didn't want her children raised as seafarers and demanded that the family leave for an agricultural area. So the family moved to New York State.
He was a farmer and voted for Jackson and Van Buren, but was a Republican when he died.

     Abigail Record was the daughter of Capt. Daniel Record. She married Lodowick Stanton on 6 December 1801. When William Stanton lists Lodowick as a son he indicates his wife's name was Nabby Read. But in Lodowick's own entry, he says the wife was Abigail Record. No explanation is given.. Abigail died in June 1856 at Oneida Co., Ny.
     As of 6 December 1801,her married name was Stanton. Of Hopkington, RI.
