John died before 17 July 1891 New york Herald, July 17, 1891: "Samuel Hiscox, who died at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. W. A. Cole, in Yonkers, on Sunday last, at the age of 95, will be buried today in Greenwood cemetery. Mr. Hiscox was one of the first ice dealers doing business in New York, and organized the Knickerbocker Ice Company. His son, Edward Hiscox, is a member of the Produce Exchange." at Yonkers, NY. New york Herald, July 17, 1891: "Samuel Hiscox, who died at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. W. A. Cole, in Yonkers, on Sunday last, at the age of 95, will be buried today in Greenwood cemetery.
