     William was born at Preston, New London, CT. He was the son of Lodowick B. Stanton and Hannah Stanton. He married Sarah Caroline Kinney at Norwich, Conn, on 2 July 1863.
     He resided at San Mateo, Florida, in 1891. He was ordained pastor of the First Baptist Church in Lowell, Mass., in 1865, and served said church until 1870, when his health failed and he moved to Florida. He was graduated from Madison University, Hamilton, NY in 1861, and from Hamilton Theological Seminary, in 1865. His first and only charge was at Lowell, Mass. When he went to Florida he engaged in missionary work. He was the owner of Woodlawn and Tanglewood Groves at San Mateo, Florida, where he lived in 1891.

     Samuel was born at North Stonington, Conn, on 29 December 1832. He was the son of Samuel Hinckley Babcock and Caroline Smith Stanton. He married Mary K. Barber at Kingston, Ri, on 24 December 1863.
     He resided at Westerly, Ri, in 1891. He was a teacher for 25 years and is now a farmer.
