I stayed with her when we moved down from Maine in 1946. She had pure white hair. I used to help them clean school desks in one room school house to earn money for school. DBS. She took in foster children....lots of them. Eddie was one.

     As of 11 April 1922,her married name was Stanton. My mother (DB Stanton's). A very special woman in many ways. On one side a housewife and mother of eight. A very outgoing, happy and gregarious person. Everyone she met was a friend. She would invite guests into the home, and put another plate on the table for lunch with 10 minute notice. Artistic. Painted in oils many beautiful landscape scenes. She said her legacy was for her children to think of her every time they looked upon a beautiful natural scene. She had excellent command of the language....loved crossword puzzles and word games. Loved language. She wrote poetry in her earlier years, and once published in Ideals Magazine. She was especially attached to Christmas, beginning her plans for the next one just after the last just finished. She loved gardening and the outdoors. Our house always had the most attractive gardens in town. She was vibrant and active until she died at 59. She wanted her children to remain friends...which we did.
