     Richard was born at Hornby, Steuben Co., NY, on 25 July 1813. His tombstone says 25 Jun 1813.. He was the son of Jeramiah Van Hoesen and Christina Van Denburgh. He married Rachel Jemina (J. Minae) Van Hoesen. Richard died on 2 July 1894 He died at the home of his son-in-law Myron A. Eddy. at home of Myron A. Eddy at Hornby Forks, NY. He died at the home of his son-in-law Myron A. Eddy..      Richard purchased his Hornby property 11 October 1865. He was a blacksmith, a very large man. When he quit the business he sold his anvil to his son-inl-law Charles R. Adam and is now (1959) mounted in the backyard of Charles Robert Stanton of Hornby. Richard also was the Justice of the Peace in Hornby. He was a popular man, social and intelligent, highly respected as a citizen. He was a blacksmith in Union, Pennsylvania also.

Van Hoesen and Rachel Jemina (J. Minae) Van Hoesen. She married Lawson Jay Stanton at Hornby, Steuben Co., NY, on 12 October 1871. Melissa died on 14 December 1925 Died at the home of her daughter Hattie Rea. Her death ceritifcate spells her middle name Anne. at her daughter Harriett's home. at Oakdale, Antelope Co., Nebraska. Her body was interred at Castana, Monona Co., Iowa.
     Melissa (Lizzie) Ann Van Hoesen was also known as Melissa Ann Van Hoesen. As of 12 October 1871,her married name was Stanton. She resided at Turin, Monona Co., IA, in 1879. Her rocking chair (from Iowa) and ring are in the possession of Emma Lou Stanislav.

     Angeline was born at New Bedford, MA, on 19 January 1848. She was the daughter of Richard V. Van Hoesen and Rachel Jemina (J. Minae) Van Hoesen. She married Andrew J. Dann on 26 September 1865. Angeline died on 9 October 1922 at Altus Air Force Base, Oklahoma.
