He married twice. He married Glenda Louise Prosser 16 Apr 1960. Glenda was born 4 Sep 1939 in Ft. Morgan, Morgan Co., Colorado. He married Lucy Lynn Guilbert Bergstrom 31 May 1972. Lucy was born 3 Nov 1940 in Cleveland, Cuyahoga Co., Ohio.

Ernest Rea Bonner and Glenda Louise Prosser had the following children:

Kathleen Louise³ Bonner was born in Ithaca, Tompkins Co., NY 2 Mar 1961. She married Tic Houck. (See Tic Houck for the continuation of this line.)
