365. John¹⁰ Stanton (John⁹, John⁸, Samuel⁷, Thomas⁶, Thomas⁵, Thomas⁴, Thomas³, John², Thomas¹) was born Stonington, New London, CT 5 Oct 1809. John died 11 September 1887 Norwich, Conn.

He married twice. He married Lydia Waterman Norwich, Conn, 2 October 1835. Lydia was born Norwich, Conn 14 October 1814. Lydia was the daughter of John Waterman and Ruth Williams. Lydia died 9 July 1859 Norwich, Conn. He married Jane G. Baker New London, Conn, 13 January 1861. She resided Norwich, Conn 1890. In the family group listing for John Stanton (her father-in-law) she is listed at Jane E. but in the family group listing for she and her husband John Stanton, she is listed as Jane G. John was a carpenter and a Baptist.

John Stanton and Lydia Waterman had the following children:

725 iii. Ruth Ann Stanton was born 1 Oct 1844. Ruth died 21 Feb 1847.

726 iv. Emeline Perkins Stanton was born 29 Jun 1850. She married twice. She married Edwin Alburtus Brewer. William Stanton indicates that Emeline is recorded for two marriages and surmises that his one to her cousin must have been her first one and resulted in separation.

Edwin was born 16 Dec 1843. Edwin was the son of John Brewer and Rebecca Wilcox Stanton. She married Daniel O'Brien. He resided East Providence, Ri 1891. (See Daniel O'Brien for the continuation of this line.)

727 v. John W. Stanton was born 3 July 1836. Unmarried. A sailor.

728 vi. Charles Edwin Stanton was born 4 September 1847. Unmarried. A sailor.
