He married Algenia E. Stanton 11 October 1868. Algenia was born 23 Jul 1850. Algenia was the daughter of George W. Stanton and Julia Patterson.

He resided Russell, Kansas 1891. Of Milmine, Piatt Co., Ill.

Matthew S. Barber and Algenia E. Stanton had the following children:

2 i. Lettie Leona² Barber was born 28 Jul 1869. Lettie died 4 May 1879.

3 ii. Adelaide May Barber was born 12 Aug 1871. Adelaide died 10 May 1879.

4 iii. Susan Ellen Barber was born 29 Feb 1876. Susan died 13 May 1879.

5 iv. Alburtis Gaylord Barber was born 12 November 1878.

6 v. Ethel Pearl Barber was born 18 April 1881.

7 vi. Algenia Mabel Barber was born 19 May 1883.

8 vii. Dora Evans Barber was born 27 December 1885. Dora died 25 Nov 1971 in Phoenix, AZ.⁽²⁴⁷⁹⁾ Her body was interred in Phoenix, AZ.⁽²⁴⁸⁰⁾ She married Arthur Stillman East 18 Aug 1905.⁽²⁴⁸¹⁾ Arthur was born in Milmine, Illinois 4 Jun 1880.⁽²⁴⁸²⁾ Arthur was the son of Thomas Wheatly East and Sarah Catherine (Katie S.) Barber. Arthur died 13 Feb 1917.⁽²⁴⁸³⁾ (See Arthur Stillman East for the continuation of this line.) Pat (East) Carby ([email protected]) has a letter written by her great grandmother, Sarah Catherine (Barber) East who went by the name of Katie S., that states that Dora (East) Richardson went to California to Dudley's. This implies to Pat that Dora probably remarried as Dudly is the name her son Raymond Dudley went by.
