5. John³ Prentice (Eleazar², Joseph¹) was born in Preston, New London, CT 1 Sep 1766.

He married Elizabeth Cliff 25 December 1791. Elizabeth was born 16 Jul 1775. Elizabeth was the daughter of Joseph Cliff and Elizabeth Stanton.

John Prentice and Elizabeth Cliff had the following children:
