Daniel4 Davison (Nicholas3, Christopher2, William1) was born in Charlestown, Massachusetts 8 Apr 1639. This ancestry of Daniel Davison is disputed. In "The Davisson/Davidson Family from Immigrantto Present" by Mary L. Narehood, 1972, private printing, copy in the Sutro Library, San Francisco, California., Ms. Narehood states that Daniel's ancestry is not from Nicholas, that his ancetry is not clear. In my opinion her case is not conclusive. Another early compiler (1920s) of this family's genealogy, Mr. A. H. Davison, shares some of her conclusions but in his publishedworks continued to show Nicholas as Daniel's father. Until further evidence can be accumulated on either side, this ancestry is listed as a "possibility" only. Daniel died 1693. His body was interred in Wenham, Massachusetts, Congregational Cemetery.
He married Margaret Low in Inpswich (Hamilton), Massachusetts, 13 Apr 1657. Margaret was born 1634. Margaret was the daughter of Thomas Low and Margaret Todd.
He resided in Newbury, Massachusetts 1655. If this is the descendant of Nicholas, he was born 8 Apr 1639 in Charlestown, Massachusetts. If he is not, then he was born 1630 in Scotland and was exiled to the Massachusetts Bay Colony as a prisoner of war having been a soldier in the Covenanter Army of Scotland. He landed in Ipswich in 1651.
On 13 Sep 1666 he signed a loyalist petition. He served as a Major of the Essex Regiment and a member of the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Co. in 1672. He became a member of the Wenham Masssachusetts Meeting House on 5 Jan 1674 and was a resident of Ipswich 13 Feb 1678.

15 v. Daniel Davison was born in Hamlet, Massachusetts 1662. He married Sarah Dodge 28 Jun 1685.
16 vi. William Davison was born in Hamlet, Ipswich, Massachusetts ca 1664. William died 17 Jan 1730. His body was interred in Hamilton, Massachusetts. He married Mary Whipple 1692.
17 vii. John Davison was born in Ipswich, Massachusetts 1666. John died Nov 1735. He married Martha Dodge.
18 viii. Bridget (Margaret) Davison was born 26 Jan 1669.
19 ix. Dorcas B. Davison was born in Ipswich, Massachusetts. Dorcas died bef 1720 in Preston, New London, CT. She married Nicholas Williams in Beverly, Massachusetts, 16 Nov 1705.
20 x. Thomas Davison was born in Ipswich, Massachusetts 1670. Thomas died 2 Dec 1724 in Preston, New London, CT. He married Hannah Tracy in Preston, New London, CT, 28 Nov 1695.
21 xi. Elizabeth Davison. Elizabeth died 8 Oct 1732 in Topsfield, Massachusetts. She married Daniel Reddington 23 Mar 1681.
