1. Lucius1 Allen was born in Hamburg, Erie Co., New York 13 Feb 1816. Lucius died 12 Jan 1895 in Elkhorn, Walworth Co., Wisc. His body was interred in Hazel Ridge, Elkhorn, Wisc..

He married four times. He married Mary A. Spoor in Auburn, Geauga Co., Ohio, 27 May 1837. Mary died 15 Nov 1838. Sister of Adophus Spoor. 1st white person buried in East Troy "on the hill, then 1st used as a cemetary, a little west of the present village."

He married Sarah Ann Barnes in Auburn, Geauga Co., Ohio, 5 Aug 1841. Sarah was born in Danby, Rutland, Vermont 27 Jun 1813.(2446) Sarah died 18 Nov 1847 in Auburn, Geauga Co., Ohio. He married Juliette Barnes in Auburn, Geauga Co., Ohio, 10 Nov 1848.(2447) Juliette was born in Danby, Pawlet, Vermont 20 Apr 1818.(2448) Juliette died 11 Mar 1878 in Elkhorn, Walworth Co., Wisc. Her body was interred in Elkhorn, Walworth Co., Wisc. Have note that they were married 10 Nov 1848 in Chardo, Geauga Co., Ohio.

He married Hephsibah Tomlinson in Elkhorn, Walworth Co., Wisc, 4 Sep 1890. Nickname was Hepsy.

Lucius's occupation: Member Of Wisc. Legislature In 1. Was an apprentice of the carpenter and joiners trade in Hamburg, New York. Went to Geauga Co., Ohio in 1836. Came from there to Section 31, East Troy, Walworth Co., WI 28 Oct 1838. 120 acres were purchased at the land sale of Feb 1839 (later sold in 1870). Built 1st frame store there in 1841. Afterward bought on Section 6 in Spring Prarie. Came about 1870 to Elkhorn as a building contractor and furniture dealer. Member of county board in 1863, 1868, and 1877.

Land records show he obtained W1/2 of SW fractional 1/4 in Section 31 Township 4N Range 18E in 1839.

Lucius Allen and Juliette Barnes had the following child:

child 2 i. Alice Whitmore2 Allen was born in East Troy, Walworth Co., Wisc. 22 Feb 1855. Alice died 6 May 1935 in Elkhorn, Walworth Co., Wisc. She married Harley Cornelius Norris in Elkhorn, Walworth Co., Wisc, 10 Jun 1879. Harley was born in Sugar Creek Twnshp, Walworth Co., Wisc 11 Feb 1855. Harley was the son of John Ash Norris and Julia Marie Richardson. Harley died 25 Feb 1937 in Elkhorn, Walworth Co., Wisc. His body was interred 27 Feb 1937 in Elkhorn, Walworth Co., Wisc. Harley's occupation: Hardware Merch,Twice Mayor of El. (See Harley Cornelius Norris for the continuation of this line.) Her address at time of death was N. Washington Street. On 23 April 1935 she was struck by a bicycle on a sidewalk and recieved a hip fracture.

Bruce writes that she was a 5th cousin of John Brown who was the one the song 'John Browns body lies a'mouldering in his grave' was written about. She always said he was her favorite cousin.
