First Generation

1. James Earl1 Cooper was born in Savannah, TN.(2899) James is deceased.(2900) His body was interred in Columbus, MS, Memorial Gardens Cemetery.(2901)

He married Ethel Mae Stone in Chunky, MS.(2902) Ethel was born in Meehan MS..(2903) She was born in a lumber camp located somewhere between Duffee, MS and Meehan, even though the official record shows her place of birth as Meehan. (according to Ethel Cooper, 1998). Ethel was the daughter of Ernest Eldridge Stone and Minnie Lee Robinson. Born to a farm family, received only a grammar school education. Went to school in Nashville for mechanics. Graduated in 1925. He went to work on highway construction andworked his way to Mississippi. He then met Ethel Mae Stone in Meehan, MS. and they were married. He worked as a carpenter and house builder. During World War II he was a member of hte 8th Air Force. Serving as a Sergeant in a B-24 maintenance squadron in England. He was a Methodist.

Had high blood pressure and heart problems, had a pacemaker for heart regulation.

James Earl Cooper and Ethel Mae Stone had the following children:

child + 2 i. Robert (Bobby) Ervin2 Cooper.

child 3 ii. James Benny Cooper.(2904) They were living in a small home on Walnut Street in Macon when Benny was born.
