He married Cordelia Throop in Henry, Marshall Co., IA, 31 Dec 1856. Cordelia was born 17 Nov 1833. Cordelia⁽²⁸⁶¹⁾ was the daughter of George Addison Throop and Deborah Goldsmith. Cordelia died 29 Apr 1900 in Mt. Pleasant, IA.

Rev. William Ramey Cole and Cordelia Throop had the following children:

3 ii. Ralph Goldsmith Cole⁽²⁸⁶²⁾ was born 12 Jan 1860. Ralph died 11 Aug 1880.

+ 4 iii. Hugh Addison Cole was born 4 Oct 1863.
