33. John5 Rea [Jr.] (John J.4, James3 Rae, Henry2, David1) was born in Slabtown, Ontario, Canada 4 Mar 1845. John died 25 Mar 1891 in Soldier (Jordan township), Monona Co., Iowa. His son Alex, indicated that John suffered from a bone infection as a result of a wound received in Indian skirmishes after the Civil War. He was advised to have his leg amputated but refused. He ultimately died of a stroke.His body was interred in Soldier (Jordan township), Monona Co., Iowa.

He married Eliza Brader 12 Jun 1872 in Mt. Vernon, Dane Co., Wisconsin. Eliza was born 11 Jan 1850 in Oriskany Falls, Oneida Co., New York. She was the daughter of Isaac George Brader Sr and Joanna Burke. She resided in Allen, Dixon Co., Nebraska 1898. The following individual is also linked to this event: Alex Rea (child). When Alex was 14 he had an appendicitis operation at his mothers.

Her body was interred Shenandoah, Page, Iowa. Eliza died 28 Aug 1916 Shenandoah, Page, Iowa. He resided in Jordan Township, Monona Co., Iowa 1875. When the family came to Jordan township they paid $7 an acre.

Suffered a stroke and died.

  • + 46 iii. George Rea was born 19 May 1877.
  • 47 iv. Eliza Rea was born in Monona, Iowa 6 Apr 1880. Eliza died 16 Feb 1885 in Turin, Monona Co., Iowa. Her body was interred 1885 in Soldier (Jordan township), Monona Co., Iowa.

    Died of diptheria.

  • 48 v. Charles Rea was born in Monona, Iowa 21 Sep 1882. He was born on the Levi Hubbard farm. Brian Bonner indicates the birth date was 21 Oct. 1883. Charles died 26 Feb 1885 in Turin, Monona Co., Iowa. His body was interred in Soldier (Jordan township), Monona Co., Iowa.
