He married HuldahFreeman 04 Jan 1774 in Preston, Conn. Huldah was born 09 Aug 1757 in Preston, Conn. She was the daughter of Joseph Freeman. Huldah died 31 Mar 1807 in Charleston, Montgomery Co., NY. He and his family moved from Preston, Connecticut to Montgomery Co., New York in 1790. And in 1815, he went with his son Amasas to Hornby, NY. John was a captain in the Hornby militia. He then returned to Preston, Conn and remarried. The name of this second wife is not known. She died in Connecticut without issue and John returned to Hornby.

40 i. John Warren6 Stanton was born in Preston, Conn. 11 Jul 1775. John died 27 Jan 1850 in Charleston, Montgomery Co., NY. He married twice. He married Hannah Corbin. He married Sally Gile.
41 ii. Daniel Stanton was born in Preston, Conn. 15 Apr 1781. Daniel died 26 Jan 1859 in Copenhagen, NY. He married Dorcas Corbin 02 Feb 1806.
43 iv. Elijah Stanton was born in Preston, Conn. 13 Feb 1785. Elijah died 15 Apr 1850 in Little Falls, NY. Unmarried.
44 v. Amasa Stanton was born in Preston, Conn. 6 Jun 1788. Amasa died 28 Dec 1843 in Hornby, Steuben County, New York. He married Dimmis Brown 1814.
45 vi. Lucy Stanton was born in Charleston, Montgomery Co., NY 7 Sep 1791. Lucy died 1829 in Hornby, Steuben County, New York. She married Dr. Hosea Palmer.
46 vii. Huldah Stanton was born in Charleston, Montgomery Co., NY 21 Aug 1793. Huldah died 16 Apr 1857 in Hornby, Steuben County, New York. She married Isaac Hill.
47 viii. Freeman Stanton was born in Charleston, Montgomery Co., NY 11 Mar 1796. Freeman died 3 Jul 1870 in Middleburgh, NY. He married Maria Lawyer 03 Aug 1820.
48 ix. Sally Stanton was born in Charleston, Montgomery Co., NY 21 Jun 1798. Sally died 6 Aug 1839 in Charleston, Montgomery Co., NY. She married Nathan Kimball.
