The application was made 18 May 1972 when she was 75 years old in connection with her claim for her husband's social security death benefit. It indicates her birth as 20 August 1896. But when she was interviewed in 1973 she said her birthday was 12 July 1896. Pelagia died October 1982. She married Michael Demetrios Varkas July 18, 1920. Michael was born in Loutra, Lesvos, Greece February 22, 1894.⁽³⁴⁰⁾ The Social Security Death Index indicates born 22 February 1895. Michael was the son of Demetrios Andonios Paspalas and Persephone (Karonia) Kledaras.
