11. Demosthenes3 Plomaritis (Georgios2, ??1) was born in Kara Buron, Izmir, Turkey 20 May 1892.(331) Demosthenes died 1980 in Tampa, Florida.(332)

He married Niki Mantis in Norwich, New London Co., CT, 1 Aug 1926.(333) Niki was born Greece 14 Aug 1908.(334) Niki died 1990 in Tampa, Florida.(335) The family had been forced to leave Turkey in 1912 and settled in the coastal village of Plomarti, Lesvos, Greece. When he arrived in Manchester, New Hampshire he stayed with his aunt, Persephone Varkas. He eventually saved enough money to have Irene brought here. Demosthenes worked as a weaver in the mills while working part time for his Barber's license. He then worked as a barber in Lowell, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts until his retirement to Tamp, Hillboro Co., Florida in 1961. The grandchildren referred to her as the "old yiyi" while the maternal grandmother was referred to as the "new yiyi". But it wasn't till the 1950's when she was brought here.
