1235. Lawson Jay¹² Stanton (John Tracy¹¹, Elisha¹⁰, John⁹, Daniel⁸, John⁷, Capt John⁶, Thomas⁵, Thomas⁴, Thomas³, John², Thomas¹) was born in Hornby, Steuben Co., Ma 25 Mar 1840. Lawson died 31 May 1914 in Turin, Monona Co., Iowa. It should be noted that his tombstone says he died 1 June 1914 but in his Civil War pension file are several sworn statements including one from the attending physician that the death was actually 31 May 1914 and the death record was corrected. His body was interred in Castana, Monona Co., Iowa.

He married Melissa Ann Van Hoesen in Hornby, Steuben Co., Ma, 12 Oct 1871. Melissa was born in Union, Tioga Co, Pennsylvania 13 Aug 1850. Melissa was the daughter of Richard V. Van Hoesen and Rachel Jemina Van Hoesen. Melissa died 14 Dec 1925 in Oakdale, Antelope Co., Nebraska. Her body was interred in Castana, Monona Co., Iowa. Her funeral was held in Turin, Monona Co., Iowa, 1925. She was one of the founding members of the Methodist Church in Turin, IA.

Lawson served in the military. His funeral was held in Turin, Monona Co., Iowa, 1914. He was a founder of this church.

1313 i. Emma Salina¹³ Stanton was born Horny, Steuben Co., Ny 6 Jul 1872. Emma died 24 Jun 1930 in Sioux City, Woodbury Co., Iowa. She married Hans Wagner Turin, Monona Co., Ia, 21 Sep 1889.

1314 ii. John Tracy Stanton was born 28 Apr 1875. John died 8 Oct 1875 in Hornby, Steuben Co., Ma.

1315 iii. Richard Van Hoesen Stanton was born 28 Apr 1875. Richard died 13 Sep 1875 in Hornby, Steuben Co., Ma.

1316 iv. Minae Mary Stanton was born in Hornby, Steuben Co., Ma 8 Sep 1877. She married twice. She married Sam Smith 1914. She married William S. Saxton 1925.

1317 v. Fred Jay Stanton was born in Hornby Forks, Ny 4 Jun 1879. The Stanton genealogy authored by William Stanton states that Fred's birth was 12 June. This is not correct. Fred died 13 Oct 1945 in Blencoe, Iowa. He married Genia Faye Maxwell 4 Jun 1902.

1318 vi. Mabel (May) Myra Stanton was born 10 Apr 1881. Mabel died 1896. Her body was interred in Turin, Monona Co., Iowa, Belvidere Cemetery.

1319 vii. Minnie Maud Stanton was born in Turin, Monona Co., Iowa 20 Jun 1883. She married Robert Franklin Lewis 23 Nov 1904.

1320 viii. Harriett Pansy Stanton was born in Turin, Monona Co., Iowa 21 Apr 1885. Harriett died 12 Dec 1952 in Alliance, NE. Her body was interred in Oakdale, Antelope Co., Nebraska. She married Alex Rea in Turin, Monona Co., Iowa, 23 Nov 1904. Alex was born in Jordan Township, Monona Co., Iowa 29 Jan 1884. Alex was the son of John Rea [Jr.] and Eliza Brader. Alex died 26 Apr 1958 in Orlando, Orange Co., Florida. His body was interred in Oakdale, Antelope Co., Nebraska. Alex, Eliza Brader's child, resided with Eliza in Monona Co., Iowa 1898. When Alex was 14 he had an appendicitis operation at his mothers. (See Alex Rea for the continuation of this line.)

1321 ix. Nellie Dorward Stanton was born in Turin, Monona Co., Iowa 28 Sep 1888. Nellie died in Denver, Denver Co., Colorado. She married Ray E. Bigelow.

1322 x. George William Stanton was born in Turin, Monona Co., Iowa 26 Dec 1890. George died 14 May 1958 in Oakdale, Antelope Co., Nebraska. He married Cecile Evans 12 Feb 1913. No issue.
