1200. William Azariah¹² Stanton (Azariah¹¹, Azariah¹⁰, Azariah⁹, Bridget⁸, William⁷, Thomas⁶, Thomas⁵, Thomas⁴, Thomas³, John², Thomas¹) was born Stoninton, Conn 24 August 1827. William died 13 Apr 1873. His body was interred 1873 Jersey City Heights, N.Y. Bay Cemetery.

He married Lucy Ann Brown Cortland, Ny, 2 April 1850. Lucy was born 26 Jun 1824. She resided Cortland, Ny 1891. With her son Charles A. Stanton.

He was baptized 27 Jul 1828. Religion:. William was a painter and a decorator; in religion, an Epicopalian, and in politics a Democrat. He served as a soldier in the Civil War, and was disabled thereby. He had several children, not enumerated, who died in infancy.
