He married twice. He married Anna Margaretha Rittenhouse before Sep 1788.⁽³⁸⁶¹⁾ Anna was born in Cresheim, Philadelphia, PA 1772. Anna⁽³⁸⁶²⁾ was the daughter of Garret Rittenhouse and Mary Bartlesom. Anna died before 1797 in Northampton Co., Pa. He married Christina Conifer in Carbon County, Pa?, about 1798.⁽³⁸⁶³⁾ Christina was born in PA 1774. Christina died about 1862 in Carbon County, Pa.

Samuel was listed in a muster roll in Northampton Co., PA, 1782. He is listed with Capt. Schmetter's Company of Associators and Militia, 6th Battalion.

Samuel was listed as the head of a family on the 1790 Census. Details 2-1-1 possibly a brother living with the family listed as Reismith.

Samuel registered to pay taxes in East Pennsylvania Twp., Carbon Co., PA, 1808. Samuel was listed as the head of a family on the 1810 Census in East Pennsylvania Twp., Northampton Co., PA. Samuel was listed as the head of a family on the 1820 Census in East Pennsylvania Twp., Northampton Co., PA. Samuel was listed as the head of a family on the 1840 Census in Carbon Co., PA. He made a will in East Pennsylvania Twp., Northampton Co., PA, 25 Dec 1845. He is listed in census records as Samuel Reismith.

19 vii. Betsy Rinesmith⁽³⁸⁶⁹⁾ was born in Carbon Co, Pa 1810. She married Daniel Gable in Carbon Co, Pa, about 1830.

20 viii. Hannah Rinesmith⁽³⁸⁷⁰⁾ was born in Carbon Co, Pa 6 Jul 1810. She married Hon. George Belford in Mauch Chunk, Carbon Co. Pa, 29 May 1828.⁽³⁸⁷¹⁾ George was born 13 Mar 1802. George died Est 1851-1894. (See Hon. George Belford for the continuation of this line.)
