1. Johannes1 Reinshmit(3844) was born in Germany 1728. Johannes died 1 Mar 1787 in Heidleburg Twp, Northampton County, Pa.

He married Anna Maria ?? in Germany, about 1752.(3845) Anna was born in Germany about 1730. (Additional notes for Anna Maria ??(3846)) Anna died after 1787 in PA. He is listed on the passenger list for the ship Edinburgh, Capt John Lion as Johannes Rein Shmit, age 25. He was naturalized 6 October 1765 in Heidelberg Twp., Northampton Co., PA.

He appears on several tax lists: 1762 tax list of Heidelberg Twp., Northampton Co., PA.; 1772 Proprietary tax list of Heidelberg Twp., Northampton Co., PA; 1781 tax list of Heidelberg Twp., Northampton Co., PA.

In 1756 he appears on the list of people who built a new church under the name of Johannes Reinschmidt. And in 1769 he contributed to the construction of a new church in Lowhill Township.

The Pennsylvania Archives Series V Book III p 237 (1778) lists John Rensmith, Senr in 6th Class of 7th Co. of 3rd Battalion of Northampton Co., Pennsylvania Militia. Page 457 lists Johan Reinshmit, aboe Eoht. listed in 7th Class of Capt. George Smathers 15 Nov, 1780. Page 453 lists Jno. Rinesmith, Sen'r in 6th Class 6th Company Capt. Smather.

Johannes Reinshmit and Anna Maria ?? had the following children:

child 2 i. John2 Rinesmith Jr.(3847) was born in Heidelberg, Northampton Co., PA 1753. John died 1810 in Toboyne Twp., Perry Co., PA. He married Susanna Cathrine Zimmerman.

In about 1800, he was in Heidelberg, Northampton Co., PA and moved to Toboyne, Cumberland Co, PA. In 1999 this town was in Perry Co. In 1778 he listed in the 7th Company 3rd Battaltion. Capt John Grum as John Rensmith, junr. In October 1780 he is Jno. Rinesmith, Jr with 7th Company. 6th Battaltion. In November 1780 he is Johan Reinschmit, Jr. weln with 7th Clas. Capt George Smathers. And the Pennsylvania Archives V Series Vol VIII lists him in the 7th Company, 6th Battalion, Northampton Co., militia.

He appears on aa 1781 tax list of Heidelberg Twp., Northampton Co., Pennsylvania as a single freeman.

child 6 v. Catherine Rinesmith(3850) was born about 1765. She married Jacob Row.(3851) i0 Jacob is listed in the 1800 census for Weissenberg Twp., Lehigh Co., Pennsylvania, and in the 1820 census for Toybone Twp, Cumerbland Co., Pennsylvania.

child 7 vi. Julianna Rinesmith(3852) was born in Heidelberg, Northampton Co., PA 16 Dec 1770. Julianna died 21 Apr 1847 in Lanceaster Co., PA. She married John Adam Smith.(3853)

child 8 vii. Leonard Rinesmith(3854) was born in Heidelberg, Northampton Co., PA about 1772. He appears on the 1812 tax list for Weissenberg Twp., Northampton Co., PA.

child + 9 viii. John Henry Rinesmith was born 5 Oct 1774.

child 10 ix. Maria Elizabeth Rinesmith(3855) was born in Northampton Co., Pa 12 Jul 1776. She married George Holder.(3856) i0 The Pennsylvania Archives Series V Vol VIII lists him on page 513 as George Holder, 2 Class, 7th Company, 6th Battalion, Capt. George Smathers.
