He married Susan Aaron.⁽⁴⁰³⁹⁾ Susan was born Est 1818-1841. Susan died Est 1863-1929.

James Ruggles and Susan Aaron had the following child:

2 i. Mary² Ruggles was born in Pontiac, Il 1860. Mary died Est 1906-1955. She married Zachariah Jewell in Paris Twp., Edgar Co., IL, 6 Aug 1879.⁽⁴⁰⁴⁰⁾ Zachariah was born Est 1820-1854. Zachariah was the son of George Washington Jewell and Julia Ann Mills. Zachariah died Est 1904-1942. (See Zachariah Jewell for the continuation of this line.)
