[1115] Roger Keagle obtained the following from the "Historical
Gazetteer and Directory of Tioga Co., NY 1887", page 376:
Daniel Stanton, born December 14, 1794, came from Norwich,
Mass., and located in the town of Nichols in 1830, and in 1836
moved onto the farm now occupied by his son Asa. He married
Almira Johnson April 14, 1820, by whom he had eight children,
viz: Maria, who died March 14, 1849, Asa, born August 15, 1822,
Elizabeth, widow of Oliver P. Chaffee, Lucinda, widow of Hiram
Shays, of Owego, Clarissa, wife of A. J. Stanton, and Levi, of
Bradford County, Pa., Jonas who drowned September 4, 1852, and
Almira, wife of David Smead of Owego.
