     Dr. Timothy Paige Fay was born on 19 May 1788 at Hardwick, MA..¹ He was the son of Daniel Fay and Mary Paige. He married Eunice Stanton Denison on 16 December 1811. Timothy died on 29 August 1865.¹

Green: "I live [in Stockbridge, VT] directly across the road where he had his office (now gone) and just down the road from our historic Militia Common, which includes our cemetery where Dr. Fay is buried. The house that he purchased in 1814 has recently been restored and is one of 6 historic sites in our town surrounding our common. If you go to our website (just type in Stockbridge Vermonet History) you will learn more about where Dr. Fay lived.

Dr. Timothy Paige Fay was one of the earliest doctors in Stockbridge, Vermont. He came with his parents to Vermont when he was six years old and they settled in Gilead, Town of Bethel, Vermont (10 miles east of Stockbridge). In 1814 at the age of 26 he came to Stockbridge and purchased a large house situated on the Common and lived there for 18 years. (He and Eunice) had eight children, five of whom, all daughters, lived to adult age, and were married.

There is a saying about Doctor Fay:
"There goes Doctor Fay
And he's looking right gay
In his brand-new Leghorn hat;
He feel might big
'cause he's driving a gig-
And he lives on Johnny Cake flat."
Johnny Cake Flat is another name for the Militia Common.

I have been on a committee that is in the progress of restoring the Stockbridge Meeting House where Dr. Fay went to church and found his name written on the outer layer of a wallboard when we removed the plaster and lathe, he was instrumental in the building this structure. Our meeting house dates back to 1826 and sits across the road from the house he lived in at the head of the Common., We had our first service this past Sunday in our newly renovated building."¹

     As of 1839,her married name was Hubbard. T.J. White indicates that her father's name was Fay not Spooner, and her name was Mary Paige Fay.

     Thomas was born in 1811. He married Mary Paige Spooner in 1839. Thomas died in 1907 at Windsor Co, VT.
     A Congregational minister in Vermont and member of the State Legislature. He graduated from Middlebury College and in 1838 from Andover Theological Seminary.

     Lavinia was born. She was the daughter of John Stanton and Bathsheba Giles. She married Capt. Ebenezer Gallup.
     Her married name was Gallup.
