4. Aristidies Anastasio2 Mavrogeorge (Anastasio1) was born Mytilene, Lesvos Greece 1866.(171) Aristidies died 1917 Mytilene, Lesvos Greece.(172) The vital records in Mytilene, Lesvos, Greece do not indicate his death date.

He married twice. He married Vasiliki Maneoil Samnioti Mytilene, Lesvos Greece. Vasiliki was born Mytilene, Lesvos Greece 1865.(173) In Alex Mavrogeorge's letter in 1963 he says his mother died 70 years ago at the age of 28 and then goes on to say "I guess" mother (was born in) 1863. It calculates to 1865. Vasiliki was the daughter of Maneoli Samnioti and Ralia Maneoil ??.

Vasiliki died 1893 Mytilene, Lesvos Greece.(174) After Vasiliki's death, Aristidies remarried. The children of this second marriage indicated that the first wife's name was Aphrodite Roithounos. This is in direct conflict with what her son (Alexander) reported. He has direct first hand knowledge, they have only anecdotal.

He married Eleni Prokopios Mytilene, Lesvos Greece. Eleni was born Mytilene, Lesvos Greece 1872.(175) Eleni was the daughter of Markoula Prokopios. Eleni died 1917 Mytilene, Lesvos Greece. In interviews, her children gave three versions of her name, Elena Palilogo, Elena Proukopios, and Propopia Patriko. Each of these names was given by at least one of her children. The official vital records for Mytilene, Lesvos, Greece list her name as Eleni Prokopios. He was a merchant in Mytilene and owned three houses on George Bernardaki Street. Two of the houses had stores on the lower floors. One of the houses is owned by his daughter Elpitha Metropoulos (Aristidies daughter) and was occupied (1982) by her two sisters Thiamandi and Cleopatra and her brother Efstratis. Aristidies' grandson Paraskeva stated that Aristidies had a nickname "Agglos gallos" pronounced anglos galos (English French) because he was unusually tall, more like an Englishman rather than a Greek, broad and fair complected. Aspacia Lenton also related a Lenton family belief that the Mavrogeorge family is of English French origin. All other family members have said that the nickname relates to his proud erect carriage and is "Aglaos Galos" pronounced aglaos galos (proud turkey). The two phrases are pronounced similarly and could easily be confused. Because we have not found any record which would indicate anything other than a Greek ancestry and the English story was related by only two people, we conclude that it is merely a misunderstanding of the original nickname.

His nieces and nephews indicated he was 2-3 years younger than his brother George. As a young man he fell in love with a woman who married another man. Heartbroken, he went drinking one evening with his friends and woke up the next morning married. He did not love the woman and after one day left her and Lesvos, moving to Athens. He never divorced the woman and remained in Athens working as a barber. During World War II he died of starvation.
