     Rufus was born in 1777. He was the son of Ebenezer Stanton and Mary Palmer. He married Helen Hotaling. Rufus died on 28 December 1860.
     When 16 he moved to Corinth, now Syracuse, NY (from Mayfield). He was a baker and brewer, engaged in the salt industry, kept a tavern. In 1816 he raised rye where the Syracuse House stood in 1891. His farm was on the western limits of the city, now known as Stanton Hill. The Driving Park was the site of his old meadow.1

     David was born on 23 February 1781. He married Judith Stanton. He married (?) (?) after 13 August 1810. David died in 1875 at Coeymans, Albany Co., NY.
